This national TV spot for The Home Depot features the hosts of the ESPN College Gameday broadcast, Kirk Herbstreit, , Desmond Howard, Maria Taylor, Rece Davis, Lee Corso, and David Pollack. I arranged the drumline and marching band music in collaboration with Shindig Music & Sound. I was on set in Atlanta to consult the marching band and coach the talent on their vocals, sung live during the shoot. This project features a heavy usage of Virtual Drumline.


Hyundai  "Saturday" (2013)

These national TV spots for Hyundai/NCAA football feature voiceover by Jeff Bridges and a full marching band arrangement of "Saturday Night" by the Bay City Rollers. 

This was a time-sensitive process during which Innocean captured a short documentary to capture the recording process with the University of Arizona marching band in August 2013.

I wrote the music for this ABC College Football commercial in 2006. It went on to be used for weekly game promotions for several years on ESPN and ABC.


Cadillac  "Drumline" (2006)

Debuting on Super Bowl Sunday 2006, Cadillac's "Drumline" is a music-driven love letter to the newly designed DTS. Featuring the intensity of the Bethune-Cookman College drumline from Daytona, FL and some incredible imagery of the new DTS navigating the streets of downtown LA, Jim Casella's original music was specifically used to edit and choreograph the spot allowing the music to tell the story. Voiceover is supplied by award-winning actor, Gary Sinise. With cinematography by Darius Khondji, and directed by the acclaimed Paul Hunter, this national spot was voted by SHOOT as the No. 2 spot in its Spring Top Ten Music and Sound Chart.


Athletic Wear  "Team Determination" (2012)

This music was designed to accompany a TV spot for a major brand of athletic apparel. The spot ended up going a different direction, so this music ultimately wasn't used. It was designed to convey intensity, determination, and teamwork with some infused drumline sounds in the background.

"Every Corner is a Crosswalk" (2009)

3-minute educational traffic safety video

This traffic safety video was commissioned by the Portland Bureau of Transportation and Animated Traffic Law. It is designed as an educational piece to cover three pieces of Oregon pedestrian crosswalk law and intends to reach speakers of all languages with its lack of text or voiceover.

The soundtrack is intended to create an entertaining, if not lightly funny undercurrent by placing action-packed film music against the cuteness of the animation. The intro and outro utilize a typewriter as an symbol of the government agency presentation, while the samba infused music it accompanies creates a fun and festive atmosphere.

This traffic safety video was produced by the Animated Traffic Law Center and commissioned by the Portland Bureau of Transportation. It is designed to educate viewers about greenway features, safe cycling routes, and "sharrows."

The soundtrack is intended to create a dramatic build to accompany the family's bicycle journey. The intro and outro utilize a typewriter as an symbol of the government agency presentation, while the samba infused music it accompanies creates a fun and festive atmosphere.

This was the first national campaign for which I composed. There was a SAG strike going on at the time, so local amateur actors and dancers were recruited for casting.The music was created using totally organic sounds to create a "Stomp-like" composition. These spots aired in over 80 markets nationwide during the Olympic games.
